Yes, SOAR wants to play their part to be a community of informal support for people struggling with their mental health.

Workshops
& Events

We offer interactive workshops that help participants learn more about mental health and hold the space for them to consider the state of their mental wellbeing in the safety of a judgement-free zone.

A 4-part workshop series that unpacks what it means to thrive in schools and workplaces. Using validated questionnaires that measure the extent of burnout and flourishing in our participants, we bring them on a journey to greater self-awareness of their mental wellbeing, their strengths and resources to face their challenges. We encourage participants to talk about their experiences in a safe space through storytelling, small group discussions and group sharing. This workshop is targeted at members of the public with an interest to learn more about the practical aspects of enhancing their mental wellbeing.

Flourishing

Beloved, I want to tell you…in a letter is a workshop developed in collaboration with Penpals in the Community for families impacted by mental health issues. The most important things are often hardest to say to our families. We want to facilitate difficult conversations about mental illnesses through letter writing, in hopes to address the challenging emotions that come with living with a mental health condition. With this effort, we hope to foster stronger familial ties in the aftermath of mental illness by writing letters to our families.

Letter Writing

A unique feature of SOAR’s workshops is that they are developed by an approach called “co-production”, where persons in recovery, their family members and mental health professionals work in collaboration to design and deliver mental health workshops. Our co-production sessions offer a peek into the engine room of SOAR’s workshop creation process. You can expect being in the same room with a group of individuals with diverse backgrounds to co-create mental health workshops that integrate professional expertise on mental health and personal experiences of recovery from mental health issues.
